Ch340s Usb Parallel Driver
My company uses a large number of thermal printers for printing event tickets. We install these printers using the Generic Text Only driver in Windows 7.
One of our clients has upgraded to Windows 10 and the printer is no longer functioning. Every time a print job is sent, the printer goes into an error state.
It supports such operating systems as Windows 10, Windows 8 / 8.1, Windows 7 and Windows Vista (64/32 bit). To download and install the Sweex USB to Parallel Cable (CD002) driver manually, select the right option from the list below. Sweex USB to Parallel Cable (CD002) Drivers. I have a USB to Parallel connector, there is a Generic IEEE-1284 driver installed, and I have downloaded and installed the printer drivers. The printer is the default in Control Panel and Word recognizes it, but when I try to print something, nothing happens.
We narrowed it down to the new Generic Text Only version 10 driver. We uninstalled the parallel port and re-installed it with the version 6 driver. That worked for a while. Then the client rebooted and Windows 10 changed the driver on its own. Any ideas on how to get this working again and to get it to stick?
Thanks in advance. I had been having trouble with a couple OKI thermal label printers we use to print our UPS shipping labels.
If the job was more than 5 labels, it would error out and start the job over again. With the printer queue up, the title bar would flicker 'offline'. I replaced the USB cable and it worked for a couple days, then it started acting up again. We have a few Zebra thermal label printers that have been OK.
What finally worked (so far) was to let Windows 10 use its own driver (OKI doesn't have Win10 drivers on their site), then in the Advanced printer properties I set it to 'Start printing immediately'. I don't know if that will help in your case.
I just kept tinkering with different drivers/settings until it worked for me. We have several Zebra barcode printers that use Generic/Text Only driver, but I haven't yet tested those on Windows 10.
Recently I purchase USB to Serial cable (CH340). I did not found drivers for Windows 7. Some off-brand stuff may come with its own driver CD to load.
