Ok, I have P4 gateway laptop. I got a Linksys wireless router.I want to set this up so it will work. I am using comtrend ct-301 adls modem.

I have a Comtrend CT-301 ADSL through my ISP and a Linksys wireless router that are working fine for my desktop that is wired and my laptop that is wireless. My new Transformer Prime is showing a strong connection to the router but will not connect to the Internet.
When the router is connected(physically connected) to the laptop it works, I get internet access.But when it is not connected phsically, I get no connection.The linksys wireless monitor says 40% signal and everything is within 1 foot of one another.PPPoE is used and the firewall is turned off.It does not give me a profile setting in the wireless monitor application. The gateway wireless monitor profile is not setup. It would be a great help if You can show me step by step how to setup a profile for this and what to put is wuld be great too.

First of all you might be to close to the router and this is the reason possibly why you only get 40% on the link. Also I am not sure about the program your wireless card is trying to use. I have had mixed results with some of the programs that come with the wireless cards especially linksys. When I do I usually end up using the Microsoft utility to configure my wireless devices. If you go to the network connections and you click on the wireless connection you say everything is grayed out except the cancel. Is there any other tabs in there.
What you want to get to is the advanced tab or advanced button. Also look near your clock and see if the two computer icons come up for the wireless card. The easy way to figure out which is which is by hovering your mouse on top of them. Double click those and see if you can get into the advance part. If you do then you want to select, under the Wireless Network tab, User windows to configure my wireless settings.
Put a check mark in the box and then you should be all set. If you have encryption enabled you will have to click on the network you are trying to connect to and then click configure. Once there you should be able to put a check mark in WEP and then enter your key.
Also as a side note if you are only getting 40% make sure you are connecting to your wireless router and not your neighbors as I have seen this happen often. The reason you cannot connect then is because they probably have WEP enabled.
