Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier Serial Number Lookup
Heya guys, I've been looking around this forum and others about the Mesa Boogie Dual/Triple Rectifier FX loop mod to get it to a serial loop, hoping someone can answer some questions I have about it! When its done will it cut the dry sound totally? One of the probs im finding at the mo with the parellel loop is I want to just hear the effect-sound and no dry sound but I'm getting the dry sound coming thru on top (as you would expect with parellel I suppose). So just want to check the mod will do this What are the set backs of the mod -- is it solely that you cant switch the loop on and off afterwards (not a problem as I want it permenantly on) or are any other controls affected? I've seen a photo of a modded amp on one forum, using jumper leads between some parts. CAn someone tell me what sort of leads these are and how to actually go about doing the mod, considering I'm not very amp-technical?

Click to expand.with the mod done, if it's done correctly, it should totally cut the dry sound. I think you should still be able to turn the loop on and off, you just can't adjust the 'mix' of it anymore, it's either all or nothing when I considered doing this mod to my dual rec, mesa tech support emailed me a schematic for the mod. I just called them and they emailed it to me.
If you don't know what you are doing, take the amp to a tech to do the mod. It's a simple mod, it shouldn't cost that much, and you save yourself the risk of being electrocuted, or worse, fucking up your amp.
